Royal Troon Portland
Laid out on the Landward side of Royal Troon’s renowned Old Course, the Portland is an excellent Links Course in its own right. Bounded to the South by the Old Course and to the North by the Troon-Ayr railway, the Portland is flatter than the Old Course, but like the Old Course, several holes are lined with a scattering of gorse bushes while unforgiving fescues lie in wait beyond the not overly wide fairways.

Machrihanish
Machrihanish is as remote, rugged and natural as exists in golf. A regular feature on GB&I and world lists, the Championship Course is a collectors item for purists.
The iconic Championship layout is one of the great unaltered links the world over. The course is a traditional out-and-back links that wraps around Machrihanish Beach heading out away from the village, before turning back for home at the halfway mark.
The round begins with one of the most exhilarating opening tee shots in golf played over the corner of the beach. The excitement, however, continues for the entire round. A par 70 from the regular tees, the course features just two par 5s, both early in the back 9.

Machrihanish Dunes
This 7,082 yard, 18-hole links course flows effortlessly to, from, and along the sea, inviting you to step back in time to the days when Old Tom Morris laid out the neighboring links. The routing, as well as the positioning of its tees and greens, was dictated by the lay of the land – and the presence of several endangered species of flora and fauna. Machrihanish Dunes is the only course ever created on a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Because of the fragility of this pristine coastal environment and in order to preserve for all time the unmatched natural beauty of the site, the course was built and will be maintained with the lightest touch possible. Of the 259 acres on which the course sits, only seven – yes, seven – were disturbed during the construction of the course. Only the tees and greens were shaped. The fairways upon which golfers tread are just as they were found, only mown shorter.
